A popular bar for Squats and Good Morning and commonly used by strongmen. Whilst the Cambered Squat Bar is often held on the upright posts to reduce stress on the shoulders, it also helps to stabilise the weight. The instability caused through the offset load means it’s necessary to have much greater control, particularly during the concentric phase of the movement – stay “tight” in the lift.Â

Whilst the Cambered Squat Bar places less stress on the shoulder complex and is therefore a popular squatting option for strongmen carrying a shoulder injury, this is not their only reason for selecting it; it should be remembered that the instability forces a controlled rep.
