The question you’re likely asking yourself is ‘why would I choose the IC6, instead of an IC4, 5 or an IC7 or 8?’ Good question, as it’s not obvious. In short, we consider the IC6 as the sensible value-for-money/ quality indoor cycle/ spike bike; so, if this is the purpose, whether home or commercial, we suggest this model.

The reason to go for maybe an IC5 at home would simply be for a similar experience and save money, once you drop lower again though (IC4), you lose the monitor – we appreciate the feedback, another reason to choose the IC6 over the IC5 – the feedback is better. The IC2 is not really the same bike – it’s a home bike; decent and durable, but it’s not the same bike – it’s a decent spin bike for the home market. 

I can afford to go up though, should I choose the IC7 or 8? The IC7 is a little bit better than the IC6, build and spec-wise; however, having used it, we can’t justify spending the extra £500 in a class environment. If you’re happy spending the extra, you won’t be disappointed, but we don’t feel that you need to. The IC8 is a different beast again – it’s a power trainer really, for the proper cyclist or pro athlete (any sport) following it in their programme…it’s Life Fitness’ answer to the Watt Bike Pro; again, it succeeds and I’d say is on par with the Watt Bike Pro, but it also costs more, so we’ve chosen a Watt Bike Pro in our own facility to cater for such athletes.
